The Gus Trent Rodeo Association seeks to continue the legacy of rodeo by investing in the next generation of Cowboys and Cowgirls through internships and education. It is through this investment we hope to improve the sport and promote the values to youth who are seeking opportunities and personal development.

Internships

 

If you are seriously interested in learning about horses, apply for our internship program. We offer a personalized internship program that will fit your schedule. You will have a hands-on experience at doing the following:

  • Learning how to take care of horse to include feeding, grooming and general maintenance

  • Proper use of tools and equipment used for a horse (Tack)

  • Handling a Horse on the ground and the basics of horse behavior

  • The basic gaits of a horse at the Walk, Trot and Canter

  • Trail riding

  • You must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license. Internships are granted on a very limited basis and all applicants must go through a screening and interview process
